Yet again, on a single project, I've burnt through every credit on every platform I have (and it's a lot) trying to get exact shots. Generation after generation wasted. No matter the prompt, LoRA, or reference images.
I don't need "close enough." I give direction—I expect results.
So when Artlist Studio was announced, it felt like a breath of fresh air.
I've signed up for the waitlist. It's exactly the kind of tool I've been advocating for.
Everyone's obsessed with "text-to-video". Paolo Gavazza nails it—very few are talking about directing.
This feels different. Not another prompt-and-pray tool, but putting creative control back with creatives, not developers.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲:
𝗔𝗜 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗶𝘁 Best-in-class models aggregated in "one safe commercial environment." Business plan (50+ employees) includes legal indemnification. Adobe Firefly playbook for IP protection.
𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗟𝗟𝗠) Understands requests and brand guidelines, routes to optimal model. Intelligent orchestration.
𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘃𝗮𝘀 Image-based prompting instead of text. Selection tools, brush. Actual craft control.
𝗡𝗼𝗱𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 Connected to video editor. Collaborative. This is Layer 1 (Build) for advanced pipeline control.
𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 Linear to non-linear. 10x production speed.
𝗛𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 New clips from existing footage. 80% cost reduction.
𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝟭.𝟬 Their own model trained on Artlist footage (best stock library). Commercial safety matters.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁:
Most gen-AI video tools are Layer 3 (Deployment) dressed as creative tools—one-click generation for end users.
Artlist Studio appears to build 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟮 (𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁) smart canvas, image prompting, selection tools 𝗣𝗟𝗨𝗦 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟭 (𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱) through node systems for pipeline integration.
First time I've seen both layers in one platform. The node board connected to video editor bridges developer control and creative usability.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴:
𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝟯 (𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁) Client-facing functionality for marketing managers: change ratios, personalize CTAs/VO for ABM, deploy to channels. Easiest layer to build, would make this revolutionary for agencies.
𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 Can it handle systematic motion design separating professional from enthusiast work?
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 LoRa options unclear
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲:
If Artlist has actually built Layer 2 craft tools that connect to Layer 1 pipeline control, this isn't just another AI video tool.
This is a fundamental rethink of how AI fits into professional creative workflows.
I'm on the waitlist. Spring 2026.
