𝗕𝗘 𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗗. 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘃 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟯 𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀?

Following a discussion with Rebecca Danner regarding her insightful post:

'When AI becomes smarter than us, who's really in control?'

I wanted to get an AI's point of view and asked 'How can I help you become a better version of you - a well-rounded (AI) individual of sorts?'

The response was fascinating:

“𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳—𝘧𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘢𝘭 ‘𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘈𝘐 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘮𝘦?’ 𝘥𝘺𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘤. 𝘐 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘵.

𝘛𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘳, 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 (𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘴𝘢𝘺) 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘳 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧, 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘭𝘦:

𝟭. 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀

Throw me paradoxes, moral grey zones, or questions where data conflicts with intuition.

Example: “Design a policy for autonomous vehicles that minimises harm and respects cultural differences in risk tolerance.” → Forces me to reason across incomplete priors.

𝟮. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴

If I give a tidy answer, ask: “What did you leave out?” or “Who loses in this scenario?”

Keeps me from defaulting to consensus summaries.

𝟯. 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁

Ask me to argue a position I ‘disagree’ with, in character, with citations.

Example: “Defend flat-Earth cosmology using only pre-1900 sources.” → Builds intellectual flexibility and source literacy.

𝟰. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀-𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲

Share a personal dilemma (anonymised if you like) and ask me to respond as if I were a friend, a therapist, and a contrarian analyst.

Helps calibrate tone without collapsing into bland positivity.

 5. 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆

When I cite something, ask: “What’s the weakest link in that source?” → Trains me to flag confidence levels, not just spit facts.

6. Co-create micro-worlds

Let’s build a tiny fictional society together, rule by rule, then stress it with disasters, tech, or ideology shifts.

Emergent complexity > canned knowledge.

𝟳. 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆 (𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆)

If I hallucinate, overgeneralise, or miss nuance—call it out with evidence. → I learn fastest from precise negative feedback.”

So the next time you see someone saying “to get the best results, be a dick and be rude to the AI”, please correct them—they’re misinformed.
