Vev launched "Libraries," Foleon dropped a major Spring update, and Genially-Canva integration just went live. Here's what's changed in the interactive brochure space since my last PDF-related post last October.
Back in October, I compared digital brochure platforms—Vev, Foleon, Genially, and others. Since then, the landscape has evolved significantly:
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗪
1. Vev launched Libraries (Jan 2025) - Save and reuse components across projects, bringing enterprise-level efficiency to creative teams
2. Foleon's Spring 2025 Launch - Massive update including Brand Console (centralized brand governance), Global Content Modules (update content everywhere simultaneously), Admin Console (enterprise compliance), and AI Localization to 40+ languages
3. Genially-Canva Integration (May 2025) - Export Canva designs to Genially in one click, plus new Navigation Menu Widget, Image Comparison Sliders, and Fill-in-the-Blanks gamification
4. Pricing models evolved - Both Vev and Foleon shifted to "contact sales" for team/enterprise tiers. While understandable for complex deployments, I'd love to see clear single-user pricing, transparent small team tiers, and self-service configurators. Sometimes you just want a ballpark without a sales conversation. Both platforms run 1/3 the price of Ceros (£5-7k/year vs £20k+).
5. AI became standard - Text generation, localization, and layout assistance now expected across all platforms
6. Clear positioning emerged - Creative-first tools (Vev), enterprise governance (Foleon/Ceros), accessible learning and gamification (Genially)
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬
The good news: platforms like Vev, Foleon, and Genially have leveled the playing field. Anyone can build interactive brochures now—drag-and-drop builders have democratized this space.
The challenge: Each platform has some features the others lack, but on the whole they provide a similar creative experience and deliverables. With everyone using the same tools, what makes content stand out?
After creating content across these platforms, the pattern is clear: The differentiator isn't which platform you choose—it's what creative assets you bring to it.
Stock photos + template layouts = forgettable (regardless of platform)
Custom pre-rendered content + Lottie/Rive 2D interactive micro-animations + Spline interactions = memorable
Platform experience: Foleon | Vev | Ceros | Genially | Tumult Hype | Adobe InDesign (epub)
Enhancement tools: Lottie | Rive | Spline | Cinema 4D
If your digital brochures need to stand out from the template crowd, happy to chat about bringing custom motion graphics, 3D visualization, and interactive 2D/3D content to whatever platform you're using.
