Cut, combine and slice shapes with boolean tools
Boolean Boutique brings proper vector shape maths to Canva. Union, subtract, intersect, exclude and divide – the Pathfinder-style operations that normally mean a round trip to Illustrator, running entirely inside the Canva panel. Punch a star out of a square, weld letterforms into a logo mark, slice overlapping circles into every region of a Venn diagram, then send the result back to your design as a real, editable Canva shape.

Five operations, unlimited depth
Union, subtract, intersect, exclude and divide work on any number of shapes at once – subtract three shapes from one in a single pass. Every result lands back on the stage as a new shape, immediately ready to be an ingredient in the next operation, so complex marks build up through simple steps. Thirty levels of undo keep exploration safe, and selection order is always visible, so you know exactly which shape is being cut from which.
Four ways in, every way editable
Start with built-in primitives – rectangles, ellipses, triangles, stars and polygons with adjustable sides. Sketch a custom silhouette with the point-placing draw tool, from crisp polygon to flowing curve with a single smoothness slider. Upload an SVG with its layout preserved, or pull vector shapes straight off your Canva page with a tick-box picker. Group parts into one shape, ungroup results back into pieces, expand strokes into fills, and hollow any shape into an outline ring.
Real Canva shapes out
Results export as native shape elements – not images – so everything stays editable in Canva afterwards: recolour, add gradients, apply effects, or drop a photo straight onto the shape to fill its silhouette. Shapes with holes survive the journey. A save-to-uploads option keeps a full-fidelity SVG copy in your media library.
How it works
Add shapes from the Add tab, then arrange them on the stage – drag to move, corner handles for proportional scale, side handles to stretch, the top handle to rotate. Switch to Edit, select two or more shapes, and press an operation.
The result appears on the stage, ready for the next cut. When you're happy, press Add to design and it lands on your page as an editable Canva shape.
