Pattern Party

Seamless patterns from anything on your page

Pattern Party is a seamless wallpaper designer for Canva. Compose with Canva's toolkit, pattern with ours: photos, shapes, graphics and text become repeating patterns without the round trip to Photoshop's offset filter. Drag an item across the tile's edge and watch it re-enter on the other side, live, as you design – the pattern is seamless by construction, not by correction.

Key Features

Seven ways to repeat

Grid, half-drop, brick, horizontal and vertical flips, mirror and kaleidoscope, each with adjustable density, whole-pattern rotation and a progressive stagger slider where half-drop and brick live. The kaleidoscope folds are true wallpaper tilings: continuous hexagonal and square symmetry fields, plus radial medallions with 4, 6, 8 or 12 segments. There is a reason only hexagonal and square exist as continuous fields – the crystallographic restriction theorem forbids the rest. We checked.

The Tile Studio

Design the repeat tile itself on an interactive stage. Add images, drag them into place, scale with the corner handle, rotate with the top one, and stack them with a proper layer list. The surrounding clones preview the tiling live through whichever repeat mode is active, so wrapping paper, wallpaper and textile repeats are designed as patterns, not assembled and hoped for. Anything crossing the tile's edge wraps to the opposite side – that is the whole trick, and you watch it happen.

Anything on your page can be an ingredient

Three routes in. From page picks photos and native Canva shapes straight off your canvas with a tick-box picker. Whole page has Canva itself render anything it can draw – graphics, stickers, SVGs, text in real fonts – into a single item. And uploads come straight from your desktop as PNG, JPG or SVG. Export the finished pattern as a page-sized fill, or as the raw seamless tile ready for any tool that takes a repeat.

How it works

Pick a source: a single image, or the Tile Studio. In Image mode, choose a repeat mode and dial in the tile and pattern sliders while the preview updates live. In the studio, add items and arrange them on the stage; the tiling previews around the centre cell as you work.

When you're happy, press Add to design for a full-page pattern fill, or switch the export to Tile and place the seamless unit itself. A save-to-library option keeps a copy in your uploads.
